Bad Credit? Learn to Repair Your Credit Report and Raise Your Credit Score
Have you taken a close look at your credit report recently? Statistics show that at least 70% of all reports contain at least one error, and many contain more. The ability to identify these errors and correct them could be the difference between being approved or being denied for a home loan or auto loan. But good credit isn't only useful in getting a loan. Credit checks are often done before a person is able to sign an apartment or home lease or as part of a background check before being offered a job. Your credit report provides lenders with a snapshot of your credit history and helps them make a quick, objective and accurate assessment of your credit risk. If you haven't noticed yet, a good credit score is an essential element in your day to day life; it is a large chunk of that by which lenders are judging you.
It stands to reason, then, that you should want to take any and all necessary steps to ensure that your report is up to date and accurate. In fact, I will say with confidence that building a strong credit rating is the most important financial endeavor that you could undertake. Now, you could hire a credit specialist to sit down with you and look over your report with you. This would end with your credit report cleaned up, your credit score raised (hopefully), and a nice bill in your mailbox for his/her troubles.
There are ways to fix your credit, though, without the help of high cost "expert" services. I can say this with confidence, because I did so myself. I am college students who made a few mistakes with my first couple of credit cards, and have suffered from a bad credit score as a result. Using the methods to which I will be referring you, I have not only raised my credit score up an entire tier (from poor to fair), but have gained priceless knowledge about the system which will help me ensure that I do not repeat the same mistakes. Remember, a bad credit score can mean requiring a co-signer for a loan you want to get in the future. It could even mean not being offered a job that would have been offered otherwise.
